현대사회의 아버지像에 대한 新 아버지像 확립 연구 -이덕무 『士小節』 「士典」篇의 아버지像을 중심으로- = A Study on the Establishment of the New Model of ideal father in Modern Society : Model of Ideal Father Based on 「Sajeon」 in 『Sasojeol』 of Lee, Dukmoo

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine what a father image suitable for this era.
To this end, we would like to examine the education of scholars in the 「Sajeon」 in 『Sasojeol』, by Lee, Dukmoo a Silhak scholar in the late Joseon Dynasty, and establish a new father image suitable for this era by organizing what is suggested to modern fathers. Fathers in modern society have been losing their presence and authority in their family. In the process of industrialization, the separation of work and family made the time to spend with the family insufficient. This delivers authority and responsibility of fathers to mothers. Additionally, it wouldbe another reason that young male didn’t have enough time and opportunity to learn the model of the father in dynamic change of society. Amid these changes in the times, the gap from the father image that modern society needs, the fact that it is in a difficult environment to perform its role in reality, and the nostalgia for the power enjoyed by fathers in the past are causing confusion in values. On the other hand, research results that ‘the absence of a desirable father’s role as a model’ is a major cause in research on youth problems and family life problems have become aware of the necessity of research on modern desirable father images.
Lee, Dukmoo was a representative scholar of the Realist School of Confucianism, Bukhak faction and had Silsagusi, a spirit of voluntary and practical. In order to be a true scholar, he argued that he should practice small etiquette both inside and outside home, reminding him of his seniority in everyday life. He wrote 『Sasojeol』 based on traditional manners to present a model of ideal father that is required in the changing society. A training book for establishing new valuessuch as 『Sasojeol』 is needed to fathers in modern society. It is expected that the philosophy of education of Lee, Dukmoo becomes a training book presenting the model of ideal father to harmonize in the society now adays, by understanding traditional education, confirming the identity as recognizing inner self and learning appropriate etiquettes.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 이 시대에 맞는 아버지상을 제시하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위하여 조선 후기 실학자인 이덕무(李德懋)의 『사소절(士小節)』 「사전(士典)」편에 나타난 선비 교육을 살펴보고 현대 아버지들에게 시사해 주는 것을 정리하여 이시대에 맞는 새로운 아버지상을 정립해보고자 한다. 현대의 급속한 사회 변화는 일터와 가족을 분리시킴으로써 아버지 역할의 어려움과 동시에 어머니의권한과 책임이 커지게 되는 결과를 가져왔다. 결과적으로 청소년 문제, 가정생활 문제 등에서 ‘바람직한 아버지의 모델 역할 부재’가 큰 원인이 되고 있다는 연구 결과와 함께 현대 바람직한 아버지상에 대한 연구가 요구되고 있다.
이덕무는 당시의 사회문화에 맞추어 그 시대가 필요로 하는 새로운 아버지상의 제시를 위하여 전통 예절을 기반으로 『사소절』을 저술하였다. 지금의 아버지들 또한 『사소절』과 같은 새로운 가치관의 정립을 위한 교육서가 필요한 시기이다. 이덕무의 교육사상은 전통 예절교육사상을 이해하고 내면의 자각을통한 정체성의 확립과 바람직한 생활예절 습득으로 현대사회와 조화를 이루는 아버지상을 정립하는 길잡이가 되어줄 것이다.
