Recently, the smartgrid has become one of the fascinating technologies that enable communication between power supplier and transmission/distribution controller through the convergence of power grid and IT technology. In the smartgrid environment, the control messages are transmitted frequently and they should be transmitted in real-time. If the control messages are manipulated or not transmitted in required time, it could lead to terrible disasters such as blackout of the whole power grid. Therefore, the integrity and the originator of the message should be certified and also the process of these should be handled in a short time. So in this paper, we mention storage overhead on the sender side and some security faults in TV-HORS, one of the finest multicast authentication schemes, and propose E-HORS which reduces these problems at TV-HORS and meat the smartgrid security requirements we mentioned.
