노무현 관련사건의 자살 전·후 뉴스 프레임 비교 분석 : 신문사의 사설을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

2009년 노무현 전 대통령의 자살은 국내에 정치적, 사회적으로 큰 파장을 일으켰다. 노무현 전 대통령의 분향소에는 많은 참배객들이 길게 줄을 늘어서는 모습을 보였다. 방송매체들은 노무현 전 대통령의 죽음에 대해 추모 방송을 내보내고, 신문들은 호외를 발행했다. 한국 사회는 전 대통령의 자살이라는 충격적인 사건을 겪으며 사회적 갈등과 함께 인간적 삶의 존엄성과 자살에 대해 다시 생각해 볼 계기를 가지게 되었다.
본 논문에서는 노무현 관련 사건에 대한 세 신문사의 프레임이 어떻게 변화 하는지를 사설을 중심으로 분석하고자 한다. 진보와 보수 그리고 기업사주라는 다른 배경을 가진 신문사들이 사설이라는 신문사의 자주적 목소리를 이용하는데 어떤 차이를 보이는지 알아보고자 한다. 세 신문사 사설의 프레임을 통하여 신문사별 차이를 분석하고자 한다.
분석대상은 한겨레 신문, 조선일보, 중앙일보를 선정하였다. 이념적으로 대비되는 한겨레 신문과 조선일보를 선정하였고, 중앙일보는 기업사주로서 진보와 보수와는 다른 이념을 보일 것이라는 가정 하에 선정하였다.
귀납적인 방법을 통하여 내용분석을 하여 8개의 프레임을 추출하였다. 프레임은 비리의혹 프레임, 수사촉구 프레임, 부패 프레임, 개인적 불행 프레임 추모 프레임, 실망 프레임, 책임 프레임, 자살의혹 프레임으로 8개가 추출되었다.
첫 번째는 노무현 관련 사건의 신문사별 양적 분석은 신문사 개별적인 사설의 보도량은 거의 대동소이했다 하지만 월별 보도량을 살펴보면 2009년 4~5월의 2개월동안 총 사설 보도량의 66.3%를 보도했다. 세 신문사가 노무현 사건 관련 사설을 짧은 기간에 집중적으로 편중해서 보도했음을 알 수 있었다.
두번째 노무현 관련 사건 사설의 핵심 프레임은 자살전에는 대동소이한 결과를 보여주었다. 하지만 자살이 있었던 5월 이후에는 한겨레 신문은 추모와 책임프레임이, 조선일보와 중앙일보는 수사촉구와 추모 프레임을 주로 사용되었음을 알 수 있었다. 한겨레 신문은 노무현 전 대통령의 자살에 추모와 정부와 검찰에 책임을 묻고 있으며, 조선일보와 중앙일보는 자살에 대한 추모는 하고 있지만 검찰의 수사는 계속되어야 함을 보여주고 있다.
마지막으로 자살 전과 자살후의 사설의 보도량은 한겨레 신문은 증가하였고, 조선일보와 중앙일보는 줄어들었다. 사설의 프레임은 자살 전에는 비리의혹, 수사촉구, 부패 프레임이 주류를 이루었고, 자살 후에는 추모와 책임프레임이 주류를 이루었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In 2009, the ex-president of Republic of Korea, Mu-Hyun Roh's suicide gave a big shocking to inside of South Korea politically and economically. Many worshipers waited for a line to get in the Mu-Hyun Roh's memorial altar. Broad-casting medias broadcast a program for cherishing the memory of Mu-Hyun Roh, and the newspapers issued an extra. Korean society finally had an opportunity to seriously think about the dignity of man, suicide and social conflict together by undergoing the shocking incident, ex-president's suicide.
In this paper, it would like to show you the column focused analysis that how the representative three newspapers have been changing their news frames about Roh's suicide. It will be also showing you that how the various newspaper companies that have different backgrounds such as progressive, conservative and private company owned display differences to emphasize their opinion by using their editorial articles. Moreover, it also wants to analyze the three representative newspapers' differences by using their own editorial article's frames.
the representative three newspapers, subjects of analysis are HanKyere news, Chosun Daily, and Jungang Daily. each of them is seriously selected because they have their own characteristics. For example, HanKyere news is the representative for progressive and Chosun Daily is the representative for conservative. Besides, Jungang Daily is the representative for private company owned.
There are eight abstracted news frames that are analyzed by using inductive method. The eight abstracted frames are unreasonably doubted frame, investigation demanded frame, decay frame, personal misery frame, cherishing frame, disappointment frame, responsibility frame, and suicide doubted frame.
First of all, according to the quantitative analysis of newspapers for Roh's incidents, the newspapers' editorial article numbers are almost even. However, if you look at the amount of news for a month about Roh, 66.3% of all the editorial news are reported from April 2009 to May. It was concentrated in two months. From the fact above, you can see that the three major newspapers tried to report too much of their editorial articles about Roh's incidents in short two months.
Second, the essential frame for Roh's incident was actually not changed too much before his death. However, after may 2009 that he committed suicide, Hankyere news mainly used Cherishing and responsibility frames. On the other hand, Chosun Daily and Jungang Daily mostly used investigation demanded frame and cherishing frame. HanKyere news charged the Government and the prosecution with responsibility for Roh's death and cherished the memory of him. On the other side, Chosun Daily and Jungang Daily also cherished but they still wanted the prosecution to investgate Mu-Hyun Roh.
Lastly, Hankyere news increased the amount of editorial articles during the incident season, but Chosun Daily and Jungang Daily decreased the quantity of columns for Roh's incident. Columns' frame was focused on unreasonably doubted frame, investigation demanded frame and decay frame before Roh's incident. After his death, cherishing frame and responsibility frame were the main currents.
