This study examines the potential resolution of the Russia-Ukraine war through a game-theoretic lens, analyzing key scenarios to assess the complex strategic interactions and international influences at play. It finds that the war’s outcome is shaped by more than military success, including the political objectives of both countries and international involvement. Two main pathways to resolution are proposed: a negotiated peace agreement or a decisive military victory. The study emphasizes that international cooperation and diplomacy are essential to resolving the conflict, with the war’s outcome depending on a combination of military strategy and political negotiations.
