Most of Korean young people are in agony of school work and future career according to the related survey. The fact that young people have trouble with decision-making such as choice of career shows that a choice of career is serious work and major interests with young people. Schools have not provided systematically and reasonably the necessary information of future career to students.
In particular, existing job technical high schools have become a prime mover for Korean rapid economic development for short periods by providing continuously manpower indispensable for maintenance of country and industrial development at the national level. However, job technical high schools are required to be changed under the present situation with a deepening avoidance of technical schools as an education for studies at a higher level has been raised by a respect of human knowledge spread generally over our society, a social ignorance of journeyman, a decease of children and a rise of financial income.
Accordingly, this study has the purpose to show superiority of Korean food, strategies for competition and infinite possibilities of Korean food to students by making them to recognize an accurate and upright values for individual work world, with seeing the influence which satisfaction level for studying of Korean-style in high school relevant to cooking makes on a choice of career.
Literature study and demonstration study were carried out side by side in this study. For the literature study, the research into if satisfaction level for their existing major study made a significant impact on their choice of career had been conducted with the job technical high school students. Three hypotheses were formed for this research. First hypothesis was that satisfaction level for studying of Korean-style food(satisfaction level of their major study and prospects of their major study) with high school students majored in cooking would make a significant impact on their sense of insecurity for choice of career. Second hypothesis was that satisfaction level for studying of Korean-style food(satisfaction level of their major study and prospects of their major study) with high school students majored in cooking would make a significant impact on their mental conflicts for choice of career. Third hypothesis was that satisfaction level for studying of Korean-style food(satisfaction level of their major study and prospects of their major study) with high school students majored in cooking would make a significant impact on their sense of security for choice of career
In result, the satisfaction level for their major study was relatively high with most of students. And they were undergoing mental conflicts for choice of career but not much sense of insecurity. Therefore, it is important for the high schools to show an accurate vision of a Korean food cook and a way to go to work through the curriculum. The fact that the satisfaction level for studying of Korean-style food was a major factor to lower students' sense of insecurity for choice of career and to raise their sense of security for decision of career was showed by hypotheses testing. But it would be premature for students to decide their careers with the prospects of their major study because they don't have any conviction and understanding about their major study yet.
