渤海人 李光玄의 鍊丹理論 = 『주역참동계』 연단론의 전개

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 발해인 이광현의 저술들에 나타난 연단술을 해명한 것이다. 이광현은 발해와 신라, 당과 왜 사이의 해상무역과 인적 교류를 설명하는 인물로 역사학자들의 주목을 받았다. 이는 이광현 스스로가 당시의 해상무역에 종사하였다고 밝히고 있기 때문이다.
하지만 『道藏』에 실려 있는 그의 저술들은 본격적인 연구가 진행되지 않고 있다. 그래서 필자는 이광현의 대표 저술인 『금액환단백문결』을 통해, 이광현의 연단술이 『주역참동계』의 연단술을 따르고 있음을 해명하면서, 이광현이 중국과 한국의 도교사에서 차지하는 의의를 해명하였다.
이 과정에서 다음과 같은 의의를 찾을 수 있었다. 첫째, 중국도교사의 측면에서 이광현 당시의 다양한 연단술의 전개를 확인할 수 있다는 점이다. 당시에 각 연단파들이 사용한 연단의 약물들뿐만 아니라, 『주역참동계』의 연단술이 어떻게 전개되는지를 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 한국도교사의 측면에서 고구려와 신라 등에 존재했던 연단술들의 방증자료가 된다는 점이다. 고구려 벽화에 나타난 연단 모습의 그림과 신라 적석목곽분의 연단 약물들은 비문헌적 자료라면, 이광현의 자료들은 구체적인 문헌 자료가 등장했다는 점에서 이들의 방증 자료가 된다. 셋째, 한국도교사에 『주역참동계』에 대한 외단적 이해가 추가됨으로써 『주역참동계』에 대한 내ㆍ외단적 이해를 모두 갖추게 되었다는 점이다. 기존의 『주역참동계』 주석서들은 조선시대의 학자들에 의해 내단적으로 이해되었는데, 이광현의 외단적 이해가 추가됨으로써 온전한 “참동학사”를 갖추게 되었다는 점이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article aims to examine the alchemy mentioned in books written by Lee Gwang-hyeon(李光玄), a person of the Balhae State. Lee Gwang-hyeon explains the marine trading and human exchanges between Balhae(渤海) and Silla(新羅), and between Silla, Tang(唐) and Japan(倭), drawing the attention of historians. This is because he discloses that he himself was engaged in marine trading at that time, However, his books listed in "Taozang"(『道藏』), have yet to be fully studied. Thus, this study, based on Lee Gwang-hyeon's representative book "Geumaekhwandanbaekmungyeol(『金液還丹百問訣』)", explains that his alchemy followed that of "ZhouyiCantonggi(『周易參同契』)", while exploring Lee Gwang-hyeon's significance in the Taoist history of China and Korea.
The study indicates the following findings. First, from the perspectives of China's Taoist history, diverse contemporary alchemies were developed. The study confirmed not only the kinds of chemicals used by then many alchemists, and the development process of alchemy of "ZhouyiCantonggi". Second, the records serve as circumstantial evidences for alchemies that were practiced in Goguryeo(高句麗), Silla and so forth from the perspectives of Korea's Taoist history. If Goguryeo murals depicting the practice of alchemy and the alchemy chemicals used in Silla's stone-stacked wooden chamber tombs are non-literature data, Lee Gwang-hyeon's data are specific literary evidences for those alchemies practiced at that time. Third, with the understanding of the external alchemy of "ZhouyiCantonggi" added to Korea's Taoist history, the history was able to have the understanding of both the inner alchemy and external alchemy of "ZhouyiCantonggi". Existing annotations of "ZhouyiCantonggi" mentioned Joseon (朝鮮) scholars' understanding of inner alchemy(內丹), but with the addition of Lee Gwang-hyeon's understanding of external alchemy(外丹), a full true Cantonggi history was able to be achieved.
