부현(傅玄)의 여성 제재 시가의 내용 및 창작 배경 = The Contents and Creative Background of Fu Xuan’s Female Theme Poetry

Fu Xuan(傅玄) was a politician and writer of the Western Jin Dynasty(西晉). As a statesman, he tried to stabilize the kingdom based on Confucianism, and wrote noticeably many poems about women.
His poems about women can be divided by two parts, one is about unfortunate fate of women or understanding and sympathy about abandoned women’s concern or their nostalgia for being apart, the other is about exaltation of beauty, virtue, talent, chastity and chivalry of women.
The poems about women had been created by three main background. First of all, his interest about women had been started from his family. His perception about women was mainly affected by his mother and mother-in-law. Second, he who had been living at the change of dynasty and also a turbulent period tried to stabilize the new dynasty Jin(晉) based on Confucianism. Through the poems, he enhanced women’s chastity and virtue for the men which are parallel to the loyalty for the emperor. Third, his exaltation about womanly beauty which was begun with his personal interest about women and ideological aspect became specific works through background of history of poetry. From the end of Han(漢) dynasty to the entire period of The Wei, Jin and Southern & Northern Dynasties(魏晉南北朝), history of poetry can be viewed as literati stylization process of the public’s poem. And such a process had become a objective and excellent condition for him to create poems about women.
