Korean native goats were experimentally infected with bovine leukernia virus(BLV), and antibody responses and BLV in leucocytes were investigated by agar-gel immunodifusion test(AGID), complement dependent antibody cytotoxicity(CDAC), complement fixation test(CF) and virus neutralization test(VN) using syncytium inhibition assay. AGID antibody titers of Group I inoculated with FLK-BLV cells were 2 to 4 at 1 month post- inoculation(p.I.), and persisted for 12 months p.I. Showing maximum titer of 16. Group II inoculated with the peripheral leucocytes from BLV-infected cattle showed the lower AGID antibody titer than Group I . Cytotoxicity of rabbit complement and normal goat serum against FLK-BLV cells was investigated. Four out of 6 rabbit complements were revealed cytotoxicity index under 5.0%. Range of cytotoxic index of 17 normal goat sera were 11.8+28.6 to 28.6+9.7. CDAC antibody titers of Group I were 8 to 16 at 1 month p.I. And then increased gradually showing maximum titer of 128 at 6 months p.I.. At 12 months p.I. CDAC titer were 32 to 128. Group II showed rela- tively lower CDAC titer than Group I . CF antibody titers of Group I were 4 to 8 at 1 months p. I., and then increased up to 32 to 128 at 8 to 10 months p.I.. Group Il showed the similar patterns of CF titers as Group I but No 3 revealed particularly lower CF titer throughout the experiments. In syncytium assay for detection of BLV in the peripheral lymphocytes, all six heads of goats in Group I and Group II revealed the positive SA through 12 months showing the maximum SA values of 148. The SA values tended to decrease as the observation time passed. VN antibody titers of Group I were 16 to 32 at 1 month p.I., and then increased gradually by the maximurn titer of 128. Through 12 month experiment, Group II manifested the lower VN antibody titer than Group I . Throughout 12 months period, the control groups that are Group lll and Group IV, showed no antibody responses in the above tests.
