      In this study, TiO<sub>2</sub> and x mol. % Fe-doped TiO<sub>2</sub> were prepared using a conventional solvothermal method, and the prepared powders were fabricated as TiO<sub>2</sub>/Fe-TiO<sub>2</sub> double-layered films for applications to the photoreduction of CO<sub>2</sub>. The amount of CH<sub>4</sub> generated from the photoreduction of CO<sub>2</sub> with H<sub>2</sub>O increased remarkably over the TiO<sub>2</sub>/Fe-TiO<sub>2</sub> films compared to the TiO<sub>2</sub>/TiO<sub>2</sub> film. In particular, the amount of CH<sub>4</sub> gas evolved over the TiO<sub>2</sub>/1.0 mol. % Fe-TiO<sub>2</sub> film was 7 times higher than that produced over the TiO<sub>2</sub>/TiO<sub>2</sub> film. A proposed model suggested that the photoactivity over the TiO<sub>2</sub>/Fe-TiO<sub>2</sub> films can be enhanced by the effective charge separation and inhibited recombination of photogenerated electron-hole (e-/h+) pairs on interfacial transfer between TiO<sub>2</sub> and Fe-TiO<sub>2</sub>.
