도시경관의 시지각 특성과 선호도와의 관계성 분석 : 서울특별시 우수조망명소를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

경관이 도시의 첫인상을 결정하는 요인이라는 인식이 일반화되면서 경관은 도시 경쟁력을 결정짓는 주요인으로 부상하고 있다. 도시의 요소 하나하나가 도시의 첫인상을 결정하며 도시의 첫인상은 도시이미지를 형성하는 중요한 요소임을 말한다.
현재까지 경관을 평가하는 방법은 주로 심리적 평가의 언어적인 수단을 통하여 이루어지고 있다. 그러나 이는 설문평가 등에서 도출된 결과에 대한 연구자의 자의적 판단에 근거를 두어 즉 절대적인 기준이 없는 판단과 경험에 좌우하여 자료를 해석하는 것이다. 따라서 연구자는 심리적 평가와 함께 피험자 실험을 통하여 피험자의 시각적 반응을 직접 관찰하고 적용시킬 수 있는 방법들을 필요로 하게 된다.
본 연구는 경관을 바라보는 시지각 특성과 심리적 인지 특성이 경관의 인지과정에서 상호 긴밀한 관련성을 갖고 이들은 인지에 의한 반응으로서 결국 시각적 선호도에 영향을 미친다는 전제 아래 진행되었다.
이를 위하여 연구는 3단계로 나누어 진행하였으며 서울특별시에서 선정한 우수조망명소 13개소를 연구의 대상으로 하였다. 먼저 안구운동추적을 통하여 시선의 이동 궤적과 주시점의 특성을 알아보았으며 설문조사를 통하여 선호도를 알아보았다.
경관을 이해하고 분석하는 수단 이상의 어떤 측면이 앞으로는 연구되어야 할 중요한 이슈가 될 것이다. 이와 관련된 논의는 일면 오늘날 현상에 적용되고 실행될 수 있는 모색이 있어야 함을 말하며 이를 위하여 안구운동 추적의 결과를 적용하고 실제 연구적 접근과 같은 것이 절실히 요구된다고 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A scenery has become a major factor in determining the competitiveness of a city as the perception of regarding scenery as the determining factor on the first impression of a city has become generalized. Each element of a city determines its first impression and the first impression is an important factor in forming an image of a city.
Mostly a linguistic method of psychological evaluation is being used to evaluate scenery thus far. However some errors occur in the process of interpreting and materializing this. Therefore along with a method of experiment a way to directly observe the visual responses of testee and applying them is needed.
Therefore this study was conducted under the premise that the characteristics of visual perception and psychological cognition in observing landscape have a mutually close relationship with each other in the cognition process of scenery and that they ultimately affect the visual preference as responses to the cognition.
Thirteen spots with a beautiful view designated by Seoul City were used as the subjects of this study. First an analysis of visual perception characteristics was conducted to examine the eye movement path and the gazing point characteristics through eye movement pursuit. Afterwards the visual preference of scenery image were examined by conducting a survey.
A series of analytical process through the characteristics of visual perception and psychological cognition should be seen not as separate results but one integrated analytical process and the pursuit of eye movement could provide a more persuasive basis on the result of psychological evaluation.
