국내 아동용 가구 소재 분석을 통한 친환경성 확보 방안 연구 = Direction of Improvement through Domestic Environment-friendly Children’s Furniture Brand Analysis

Recently, the biggest issue in the market for children’s furniture is environmentally friendly and healthy furniture. Especially, the eco-friendliness of children’s furniture will become a more important keyword in product selection, development and marketing. However, in case of domestic children’s furniture, there is no information about selection criteria and material of eco-friendly furniture for consumers, and standards for securing eco-friendliness of furniture materials made up of various materials are ambiguous. Therefore, in order to provide accurate information and selection criteria for eco-friendly furniture materials, this study surveyed all 54 eco-friendly children’s furniture brands based on research on eco-friendly furniture material types and certification standards, and investigated the materials and manufacturing methods to understand the environmental characteristics related to the materials of domestic children’s furniture. This study aims to identify the environment - friendly status of the Korean children’s furniture market from the viewpoint of furniture materials and present future directions for improvement. We surveyed 849 pieces of recreational furniture, 1,471 pieces of study furniture, and 664 pieces of storage furniture in 54 brands to investigate the main ingredients and finishing method of 2,997 products. Therefore, we surveyed the materials used by each item and the frequency of use of each material, and analyzed the major finishing methods for each material to prove the material characteristics and the complementary points of domestic environmentally friendly children’s furniture.
