My study is about Andrei Tarkovsky`s(1932~1986) 4th film called <Mirror>. I focused on narrative structure in <Mirror> and especially concentrated on analysis of time-structure in the film. Though my dissertation, I attempt to clarity his de-construction of classic Narrative Cinema which is characterized as linear time-structure and cause-effect relationship. To understand his sense of time, I would recommend to study the concept of time as Duration that the perception at present and the memory at past merge into each other; ,they are like the two sides of a medal. His conception of time gives a clue to a problem of understanding the narrative structure of <Mirror>. In conclusion, I insist that the film images of the <Mirror> is released from linear time-structure and the schema of cause-effect relationship which is immanent in conventional narrative cinema. Therefore, the virtue of <Mirror> is that appropriates time, complete with that material reality to which it is indissolubly bound and which surrounds us day and hour by hour.
