성과 배우자 생존여부에 따른 한국 노인의 행복결정 요인 연구 = The study of happiness determinants on the Elderly according to sex and couple existence

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to evaluate an integrative model of happiness which incorporated psychological factors as well as fundamental demographical factors(sex and couple existence). A newly developmental general measures was used to assess korean elderly happiness. Using judgement sampling, 353 the elderly in Seoul and Kyung-Gi-Do eldleted self reported measures. Decision tree analysis showed there was a positive relations between economic status, stable family relationship and happiness. Social contact desire was a ildortant factor in man whereas there was a positive relation between religinomithere was and happiness in woman. These results are discussed in the contexts of culture, sex of offspring and sampling characteristics such as disabled and basic living subsiders. These results provide more specific and effective practical implications to promote quality of life for Korean elderly men and women.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 한국 노인의 행복을 설명하는 개인차 변인들이 객관적인 인구사회변인들과 어떻게 상호작용하고 특히, 성이나 배우자의 사망여부에 따라 그 상대적인 영향력이 어떻게 달라지는지 확인하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상자는 서울과 경기도의 양로원과 노인대학 5개소에서 표집한 353명의 노인이었다. 본 연구를 통해 행복의 토대로서 경제적 조건이 어떻게 작용하는지를 알 수 있었고, 노인들에게 작용하는 배우자 사망이라는 스트레스의 영향과 그 기간을 분명히 확인한 성과가 있었다. 남자 노인의 사회적 욕구와 여자노인이 가족 관계에서의 안정된 지지가 행복감을 증가시킨다는 사실도 분명하게 입증되었다. 한국 문화의 맥락에서 정립된 딸에 대한 기대와 관계의 방식이 현대적으로 재조명 될 필요가 있다는 것은 본 연구를 수행하면서 도출한 연구 문제이기도 하다. 논란의 소지가 있지만 여자 노인에게 있어서 종교 활동이 지지의 결핍에서 오는 관계추구성 행동이라는 사실도 시사되었다. 본 연구에서 객관적인 삶의 조건이나 사회적인 변인이 더 중요한 역할을 하는 것처럼 보인 것은 행복에 관련된다고 알려진 안정된 개인차 변인들을 상대적으로 많이 포함시키지 못했기 때문일 수 있다. 추후에는 생활보호 대상자나 장애노인들의 행복 결정 요인을 중심으로 한 연구 결과도 비교해 볼 필요가 있다.
