In this paper, a parallel operation method of dc-dc converters for High Power Fuel Cell systems is proposed. The main technical challenges are to design a high efficiency dc-dc converter and to develop a control algorithm for parallel connection of two dc-dc converter power stages.
The developed dc-dc converter employs full-bridge topology, zero-voltage soft switching for high efficiency and parallel operation algorithms, maximum current sharing, are investigated considering static and dynamic operation of the high power Fuel Cell stack and the peak current sharing methods selected and implemented for the parallel operation.
To verify the high performance of the converter system for parallel operation, the parallel operation test, which has two converter module of 500W, is accomplished.
