The government`s support for multicultural education aims to build future social safety network at preventive level through school life adaptation improvement of multicultural students. The purpose of this paper, however, includes the meaning of educational competency consolidation to foster multicultural students as global citizens who can play a role in bridging their parents` countries, as well as improvement of their adaptation to school life. In this context, multicultural education needs to be executed both at home and at school and the need for education for multicultural parents is emphasized from such a standpoint nowadays. Although many studies on multicultural students` school life adaptation (poor academic results, being treated as an outcast, etc.) have been conducted so far, the study on the multicultural parents has yet to be conducted. This study identifies the reality of education for multicultural parents undertaken in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province in 2012, points out problems and presents opinions on the development direction of the education. First, The National Center for Multicultural Education Center, an upper level institution to support education for multicultural parents, and corporate foundations should actively support such an education to make it a long-term and systematized one. They also need to manage and oversee the institutions in charge of the education. Second, the institutions in charge of the education (Jeju Multicultural Education Center and Jeju Multicultural Family Support Center in this study) should endeavor to fulfill efficient education for multicultural parents to bolster the school life adaptation and educational competency of multicultural children by operating education for those parents, as an intermediary mediator between the upper institutions and the participants in the education. Third, the educationparticipating parents need to expand and show a keen interest in their children`s education and focus on the educational competency fortification of their children through a variety of information acquisition on their children`s school life.
