사회과에서 매체 해독을 활용한 비판적 담론 교육 방안에 관한 연구 = A study on critical discourse education using media literacy in social studies

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study is to search for a program of critical discourse education using media literacy in social studies and to illustrate actual cases. First, this study discussed the need of media literacy and its relationship with social studies education. Second, it examined the previous studies in order to support what this study suggested. Third, it search for the program of critical discourse education using media literacy in social studies. This study proposed a teaching & learning method that has been established for cultivating critical thinking & practical participation attitude, teaching critical discourse theme, and practising discourse classes. Lastly, it illustrated a teaching & learning lesson plan of discourse theme as an actual classroom case.
This study suggested a demand for further studies on critical discourse education using media literacy. First, various discourse themes that is closely related to thematic strand and the social studies curriculum must keep being developed and applied to actual classrooms. Then, different types of administrative support and workshops among teachers of each course of study must be activated for developing thematic strands, practical classroom models, and learning materials. Second, teachers and learners must cooperate in an open and self-regulating atmosphere in order to settle critical discourse education using media literacy. Third, this study has not analyzed the process of actual classroom practice because it focused mainly on the theoretical support of searching for the program. Thus, further research on classroom practice and educational effect of critical discourse education using media literacy in the social studies classroom.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 사회과에서 매체 해독을 활용한 비판적 담론 교육 방안을 모색하고적용 사례를 제시하는 것이다. 우선, 매체 해독의 필요성과 의미에 대해 개관한 후 매체 해독과 사회과 교육의 관계에 대해 논의하였다. 둘째, 관련 선행 연구들을 비판적으로 고찰하여 본 연구의 시사점을 모색하였다. 셋째, 본 연구의 핵심 주제인 매체 해독을 활용한 비판적 담론 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 교육목표로 비판적 사고력 및 실천적 참여 태도 함양, 교육내용으로 비판적 담론 주제 및 담론 주제 선정의 근거, 담론 수업 실행을 위한 교수-학습 방법을 제시하였다. 넷째, 비판적 담론 교육 방안의 적용 사례를 보여주기 위해 담론 주제를 단원으로 설정하여 교수-학습 과정안을 작성하였다.
마지막으로, 매체 해독 활용 비판적 담론 교육이 정착되기 위해 필요한 제반 과제 및 향후 연구 과제에 대해 다음과 같이 제언하였다. 첫째, 사회과 교육의 성격 및 내용을 고려하여 관련 주제 스트랜드 및 교육과정 내용 요소와 상호 유기적으로 연계될 수 있는 담론 주제가 계속해서 꾸준히 개발되기 위해 담론 주제, 적용 가능한 수업 모형, 관련 학습 자료 등의 개발 및 공유 작업이 원활히 수행될 수 있도록 교사들간 공동 연구 및 협조 체제 구축을 위한 교과 모임 활성화, 각종 행정적 지원 등이 요구된다. 둘째, 매체를 활용한 비판적 담론 교육이 학교 현장에서 뿌리내리기 위해서는 자율적이고 개방적인 대화의 문화가 정착되고, 교사와 학생이 탐구 공동체로 거듭나야 할 것이다. 셋째, 실제 교실 수업 현장에서 매체 활용 비판적 담론 교육의 구체적 실행 과정, 교육적 효과, 시사점 등에 대한 면밀한 분석을 위해 후속 연구들이 이어져야 할 것으로 본다.
