성인 발달장애인의 자기결정에 관한 연구 -부모의 중요성 인식과 교수실행의 영향력을 중심으로- = Study on self-determination of Adult with Developmental Disability - Focused on parental influence over self-decision making-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 성인 발달장애인의 자기결정 수준을 살펴보고, 이에 영향을 미치는 부모의 자기결정 중요성 인식과 자기결정 교수실행의 영향력과 경로관계를 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 성인 발달장애인과 그들의 부모를 쌍으로 하여 서베이를 실시하였고, 구조방정식을 통해 연구모형을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 성인 발달장애인의 자기결정 수준은 1.98점으로 나타났고(3점 만점), 부모의 자기결정 실행수준이 발달장애인 자녀의 자기결정에 가장 많은 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 부모의 자기결정에 대한 중요성 인식은 발달장애인 자녀의 자기결정 능력에 직접적인 영향을 미치지는 않았으나, 중요성 인식이 자기결정 실행수준을 높여 발달장애 자녀의 자기결정을 향상시켰다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 성인 발달장애인의 자기결정 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 부모 영향의 중요성을 밝히고, 이를 지원할 수 있는 사회복지적 실천 방안을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is to study the level of self-determination of adults with developmental disability; the parent’s recognition on the importance of self-determination; and the impacts and causal relationship of the instruction of self-determination. For this study, we surveyed a group of adults with developmental disability and their parents, and it was analyzed under the structural equation. The analysis showed that the level of self-determination of adults with developmental disability stands at 1.98(on 3 points scale), and the parent’s self-determination level had the most impact on their adult children’s level of self-determination. The recognition of the parent’s on the importance of self-determination did not have a direct impact on the level of the adult children’s self-determination, but the recognition actually improved the parent’s self-determination, resulting in enhancing their children’s self-determination. Based on these findings, we would like to highlight the importance of parent’s role in improving the level of self-determination of adults with developmental disability, and suggest the ways to support from social work perspective.
