주요 산업 및 산업기술자와 건설산업 및 건설기술자의 이미지 비교 분석 연구 : 일반 국민의 인식을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

건설산업 및 건설기술자의 국가 경제발전과 국민의 삶의 질 향상에 긍정적인 역할과 공헌에도 불구하고, 현재 건설산업에 대한 이미지는 부정적으로 투영되고 있으며 건설기술자 이미지는 정확한 진단조차 미흡하다. 건설산업의 부정적인 이미지는 건설산업의 지속적인 성장을 저해하고 건설기술자의 부정적인 이미지 형성에 영향을 끼칠 수 있다. 따라서 건설산업과 건설기술자에 대한 이미지를 개선하기 위한 노력은 매우 중요하며, 이를 위한 출발점은 일반 국민이 어떠한 인식을 가지고 있는지 진단하는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 일반 국민을 대상으로 주요 산업 및 주요 산업기술자와 비교한 건설산업 및 건설기술자의 이미지를 진단하고 주요 특징 및 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 연구 결과, 건설산업과 건설기술자의 이미지는 긍정적인 측면도 있지만 전반적으로 부정적인 측면이 강하게 나타났다. 특히 건설산업의 투명성과 건설기술자의 도덕성 이미지는 매우 부정적으로 나타났다. 향후 건설산업과 건설기술자 이미지 개선의 노력이 통합적으로 수행되어야하며 이를 위해 건설 관련 산학연관의 지속적인 협력을 통한 전략 수립과 실행이 절실히 요구된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Construction industry and engineers have played a critical role in the nation's economic development and the quality of general public's life. Nevertheless, the image of construction industry has often been negatively perceived and the image of construction engineers has not been properly understood. The negative image of construction industry can be obstacles of the industry's sustainable growth and give a negative impact on the image of construction engineers. Therefore, it is important to improve the image of construction industry and engineers, and a starting point is to understand how the image is perceived by general public.
The objective of the study is to compare the image of construction industry and engineers with the image of major industries and their engineers as perceived by general public in order to identify key characteristic and implications. The study found that the image of construction industry and engineers tend to be negatively perceived although there are some positive perceptions as well. In particular, the industry's transparency and engineers' integrity are the areas where the image is most negatively perceived. The study suggests that efforts for improving the image of construction industry and engineers should be collectively made with the collaboration between key industry stakeholers including the industry, government and academia.
