      The purpose of this study is to develop a computational model to determine operational requirements for regional reserve forces during both wartime and peacetime operations. For this purpose. tactical consideration factors(METT+TC: Mission, Enemy situation, Terrain and weather, Troops and support available, Time available, Civil considerations) were considered for the analysis of the effects of environmental factors on regional defense operations, and this constitutes for this study.
      For example, as to the aspect of mission, it was proposed that the use of regional reserve forces ought to be shifted from a static defense concept which concentrates on the control of key areas such as choke points and check points to a concept of highly mobile reserve distributed to points where they were most needed. And it was also proposed that the shift of duty ought not to be implemented in consideration of the characteristics of regional defense operations during wartime and peacetime.
      The criteria for determination of the operational requirements for of the regional reserve forces were computed using the number of important national facilities, the number of reserve forces resources, and the area by administrative unit. This computational model showed a total of 1,458 regional reserve companies for operational requirements.
      In the future, the desired size of the regional reserve force unit can be computed by using the standardized number of members. once the structure of the regional reserve force unit is established.
