이종환과 관정이종환교육재단: 기업가정신, 기업가적 자선활동, 가치 전환을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 관정 이종환과 관정이종환교육재단을 중심으로 기업가정신(entrepreneurship)과 지속가능한 기업가적 자선활동(sustainable entrepreneurial philanthropy)에 대한 학술적 해석을 제시하고자 한다. 구체적으로, 기업가정신 관점에서 이종환의 생애와 기업 경영 활동을 고찰하고, 관정이종환교육재단의 설립 배경과 지향점을 가치 전환 관점에서 살펴본다. 그의 경영 철학을 정도(正道)에 기반한 창조 정신, 도전 정신, 기여 정신으로 정의하고, 기업가정신의 핵심 개념인 사업 기회, 사업 동기, 기업가적 자선활동과의 관련성에 주목한다. 그리고 관정이종환교육재단이 추구하는 엘리트 인재 양성과 지속가능성을 중심으로 차별화된 지향점을 살펴보고, 창업부터 재단설립 과정을 기업가정신에 기반한 기업가적 자선활동을 통한 경제적 가치에서 사회적 가치로의 전환으로 설명한다. 본 연구를 통해 이종환의 기업가정신과 기업가적 자선활동을 재조명하고, 주요 시사점을 제안함으로써 지속적인 사회적 가치 창출과 확산에 기여하고자 한다.

This paper explores the entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial philanthropy of Jonghwan Lee, who founded the Kwanjeong Educational Foundation (KEF). We examine his business philosophy encompassing creativity, challenge, and contribution by focusing on its linkage to entrepreneurial opportunity, entrepreneurial motivation, and entrepreneurial philanthropy, which are core elements of entrepreneurship. We then suggest that his entrepreneurial mindset and entrepreneurial philanthropy underpin the value transformation of KEF from economic value to social value during its formation. They also play critical roles in understanding the motive and background of KEF. Overall, this paper contributes to the literature on sustainable entrepreneurial philanthropy and value transformation by highlighting Jonghwan Lees entrepreneurship.
