65세 이상 관절염 여성노인의 체질량지수와 우울과의 관련성

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and depression score in 9,746 elderly women over 65 years old with arthritis. Data from the 2009 Community Health Survey were analyzed for this study. As a result, the Mean depression score according to BMI level was found 36.2±8.9 in the under weight group, 34.6±7.8 in the normal weight group, and 34.7±7.8 in the obesity group, which showed that the highest depression score was found in the under weight group. The Multiple regression analysis showed the significant difference in the under weight group compared with normal weight group. However there was no significant difference between the obesity group and the normal weight group. These results suggest that under weight was a risk factor for depression level in elderly women with arthritis. Therefore, maintaining healthy weight should be considered to preventing the weight loss depression and to decrease in elderly women with arthritis.
