다문화 시대의 선교적 도전과 기회 = Missional Challenges and Opportunities in a Multicultural Era

국문 초록 (Abstract)

급격히 변화하는 다문화·다민족 사회 속에서 한국 사회의 선교적 기회와 도전 과제를 제시한다. 한국은 경제 발전과 국제적 위상을 높여온 국가로, 현재 인구 감소와 고령화라는 문제에 직면하고 있다. 이에 따라 농촌 지역과 산업 현장에서 다문화 가정과 이주 노동자들의 역할이 중요해지고 있다. 통계청의 자료에 따르면, 다문화가족의 수는 2020년을 기점으로 급격히 증가했으며 이주 노동자와 다문화 가정의 이입이 다문화사회의 주요한 구성 요소로 자리를 잡고 있다. 또한, 다문화사회에서의 교육과 사회적 적응에 대한 요구도 지속적으로 증가하고 있다.
본 연구는 다문화사회에 대한 성경적 접근을 제시하며 교회와 선교사들이 이러한 문제를 어떻게 해결할 수 있을지 논의한다. 다문화사회가 한국에 가져오는 도전 과제를 다루는 동시에 선교적 기회로 전환할 가능성을 열어놓고 있다. 다문화사회에서의 선교적 도전과 기회는 단순히 외형적인 세계화가 아니라 성경적 관점에서 본질적인 교훈에 집중한다. 이 연구는 교회와 선교사의 역할을 강조하며 다민족 사회의 공동체 의식을 고양하는 방법을 모색하고자 한다.

In the midst of a rapidly transforming multicultural and multiethnic society, this study explores the missional opportunities and challenges facing Korean society. As a nation that has achieved remarkable economic growth and elevated its global stature, South Korea now confronts pressing demographic issues, including population decline and an aging society. In response, the roles of multicultural families and migrant workers have become increasingly vital, particularly in rural areas and industrial sectors. According to data from Statistics Korea, the number of multicultural families has risen sharply since 2020, positioning both migrant workers and multicultural households as integral components of the evolving multicultural landscape. Concurrently, there has been a growing demand for education and social integration within this context.
This research presents a biblical framework for engaging with multicultural society, examining how churches and missionaries can address emerging challenges. While acknowledging the difficulties brought about by multicultural dynamics, the study also highlights the potential for these circumstances to be transformed into missional opportunities. The engagement with multiculturalism is not merely a response to external globalization but is rooted in essential biblical principles. By emphasizing the role of churches and missionaries, this study seeks to cultivate a sense of community within a multiethnic society and to identify effective approaches to fostering inclusive and gospel-centered communal life.
