巫俗神話 <칠성풀이>의 연구 = (A) Research on 'Chilsungpussi', a Shaman Myth

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고에서는 <칠성풀이>의 구조와 역사적 변모를 고찰하여 이와 같은 신화가 형성된 전승지역의 문화적 배경과 이에 드러난 향유층의 의식을 살펴보고, <칠성풀이>가 굿에서 갖는 위상과 그 서사문학적 의의를 논의하였다
Ⅱ장에서는 <칠성풀이>의 이본을 비교하여 공통단락을 추출하고, 계열신화와의 대비를 통해 <칠성풀이>가 다른 本들에 비해 대표성을 가지며 주인공의 행적을 중심으로 탄생에서부터 신직에 이르기까지 완결된 형태를 갖추고 있음을 밝혔다.
Ⅲ장에서는 <칠성풀이>의 신화구조와 그 역사적 변모를 검토하였다. <칠성풀이>는 天父地母型 신화구조이지만 이 지역의 地母神 신앙을 반영하여 어머니의 역할이 강조된 가정신화이다. <칠성풀이>에 나타난 가족갈등은 가부장 가족제도에서 발생할 수 있는 문제로서 家長의 횡포와 무능이 근본적인 원인이었다. 그러나, 사회에서는 가장의 권위가 최대한 인정되기 때문에 계모를 응징함으로써 家長權을 비판하며 가정회복의 염원을 표현하게 된다. 희생적인 모성의 강조는 가족원간의 보살핌과 책임으로 가정의 안정을 지키고자 하는 기원의 표출인 동시에 가부장사회에서 이러한 여성만이 가정 내에서 인정받게 된다는 존재의 실상을 말해준다.
Ⅳ장에서는 <칠성풀이>의 전승맥락과 서사문학적 의의를 살펴보았다. 구전으로 전승되며 내려온 무속신화는 주향유층인 여성의 성향을 반영하여 이들의 경험과 관심을 표출하게 되었다 굿에서 <칠성풀이>는 가정 내 생산수호신의 신하로서, 이 지역에 없는 성조신화의 역할을 포괄하고, <제석굿>의 미진한 부분을 보완하고 있으며, 문학적인 세련미를 갖추어 지역 내 대표적인 서사무가가 되었다. 그러나, 현재는 세습무가 줄어들면서 巫風이 변화하고, 巫圈이 개방되면서 전국적인 분포를 갖지 못해 <칠성풀이>의 전승이 쇠퇴하고 있다. <칠성풀이>는 지역 내의 문화적 배경에 의해 모계중심의 가정신화로 형성되어, 생산신 신화구조와 계모담이 결합되면서 설화나 소설과는 구분되는 뚜렷한 기능성과 신화성을 가지며, 신화로서는 보다 세속적인 가정생활의 문제를 반영했다. 이렇게 하여 문학적인 흥미와 기능적인 면을 함께 아우르고, 다른 서사문학과 상호영향을 가지며 다양한 무속신화의 양상을 보여주고 있다.
본 논문은 <칠성풀이>의 특성과 의의를 신화구조뿐 아니라 서사문학적으로 고찰하고 전승맥락과 지역 내의 문화적 배경을 연관지어 논의함으로써, 이를 통해 다양한 무속신화의 면모를 살펴보고자 한 데에 의미가 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this thesis, investing the structure of 'Chilsungpurri" and its historical transformation, I studied the cultural back ground of various similar myths in the tradition area and the consciousness of enjoying class of Musokshinhwa I discussed the potential of 'Chilsungpum" in shaman realm and its narrative literary meaning.
In the Chapter Ⅱ, I abstracted common contents of 'Chilsungpum" comparing with other versions. Contrasting with other similar myths, I made clear that 'Chilsungpurri' represented other similar versions and had almost complete form from the birth to being a god through the hero's achievement.
In the ChapterⅢ, I invested myth structure of 'Chilsungpurri' and its historical transformation. 'Chilsungpurri' has a myth structure of 'Sky Father - Earth Mother' type. Reflecting religious idea of a goddess of the earth, It is a kind of Gajungshinhwa in which mother's role is emphasized. 'Chilsungpurri' tells dissensions between the consists of the family under the system controlled by a patriarch. The dissensions comes from the patriarch's oppression and incapacity. 'Chilsungpurri' reflects that a woman wishes to enlarge her influence in the family and to be guaranteed of settled life through the sacrificial maternal instinct.
In the Chapter Ⅳ, I examined the potential of 'Chilsungpurri' in 'Gud', a shaman performance and its narrative literary meaning. Reflecting women's interest and wish, who are main class that enjoyed, Musokshinhwa - a kind of shaman myth - has been changed from generation to generation. 'chilsungpurri' is a myth of productive guardian deity. Including the role of 'Sungjoshinwha', It complements imperfect part of 'Jeseokgud'. With literary refinement, It could be a representative narrative shaman song in its area. But now, the situation of reduced heredity shaman, mutated shaman style and opened shaman area makes that the tradition of 'Chilsungpurri" is on the decline. By being combined the structure of productive deity myth and 'Gyemodam' - stepmoter story - 'Chilsungpurri" could have both literary interest and function. Being changed as time flows, Musokshinhwa reflects real life. So, it could be possible that subject matters and themes of family affairs were accommodated in a myth.
This thesis has the meaning that I inspected 'Chilsungpurri" in the view point of narrative literature as well as myth structure and discussed its transmission coherence by linking local cultural back ground in the area, and through these I studied various realm of Musokshinhwa.
