부산항 항만연관산업의 실태조사 분석 및 개선방안 연구 = A Study on the Analysis and Improvement Measures for Port-related Industry of Busan

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리나라는 2021년 기준 세계 7위의 부산항을 보유하고, GDP대비 수출입비율이 84.8%로 무역의존도가 상당히 높은 무역 강국이다. 수출입 화물의 대부분이 항만을 통해 이루어지는 구조에서 항만산업은 우리나라 경제의 중요한 산업이다. 부산항 성장을 통한 지역 일자리 창출과 지역경제 활성화를 위하여 근간이 되는 항만연관산업의 동반 성장은 필수적이다. 그러나 부산지역의 항만연관산업의 현황 조사 및 경쟁력 분석을 수행함에 있어 일관성 있는 통계분류와 집계가 어려워 산업 정의 및 범위 설정, 그리고 통계추계 괴리가 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 일관성 있는 통계 분류와 집계를 통한 산업 기초 현황 파악 및 분석을 위한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

Korea is one of the global export-powerhouses with the trade dependency ratio of 84.8% of national gross domestic product in 2021. Busan, Korea’s largest seaport, takes the 7th place on a global basis in terms of container throughput. As the vast majority of the country’s export and import is serviced by shipping transport, the port industry is a major pillar of the Korean economy. Given the fact that the growth of port industry in Busan is a key to job creation and regional economic development, it is of considerable importance to align the cooperation with port-related industries. However, it is widely believed that there are gaps in the definition, the range and the statistics of port-related industries, which hinders fact findings and policy-making. In this regard, this study suggests the solutions to classification, statistics aggregation and analysis of the port-related industries in Busan.
