      Korean Adverbial Case Particleand Chinese prepositions both fall into the category of functional words indicating grammatical relationship. And the two have a similar point on the semantic representation and syntactic function. Therefore many students who study both Korean and Chinese believe that Korean Adverbial Case Particle and Chinese prepositions are exactly equivalent. However, despite the similarities in semantic representation and syntactic function, they are not totally equal to each other for each language has its specific character. The typical Adverbial Case Particle “-에” was studied in this essay. Firstly the semantic meaning of the word “-에” is divided into the following nine classifications “premises”, “object”, “Standard”, “status qualification”, “reason”, “tool means”, “time”, “background·source”, “units”. And then the author studies each Chinese translation morphology respectively, especially its Chinese preposition equivalence, thus to further explore characteristics and relations of Korean Adverbial Case Particle and Chinese prepositions.
