Solar energy has the potential as efficient, clean, and economical fuel sources. Thermoelectric generators are also the part of green technology using solar thermal energy which is based on Seeck effect.
Evaluation of effects on the performance of thermoelectric generators was carried out. In this study, it is the main issue that interface effects between hotside and coldside of thermoelectric generation module(TEM) and dimensions, number of fins of heat sink were controlled. It has a good performance in case of covering thermal compound on the TEM surfaces compare to thermal pad and we understand that it is not necessary to use heat sinks of extremely high dimensions.
The generator consists of Fresnel lens, solar energy collector, TEM and heat sink. Experimentally, open circuit voltages(2.11Volt), internal resistance(1.5Ω) were measured with 50°C temperature difference in solar thermoelectric generator that 0.74 Watt in maxium power theorem of TEM.
