현대 신화 스토리텔링의 프로세스 -< 라이프 오브 파이 >와 < 빅 피쉬 >를 통하여- = Process of Modern Myth Storytelling-From < Life of Pi > and < Big Fish >

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

〈 Life of Pi 〉 is mainly about Pi who had survived from a sunken ship. 〈Big Fish〉 is mainly about Edward Bloom`s amazing experiences. Both lives of Pie and Edward are fantastic and mythical stories and also full of bizarre happenings. In [Life of Pi] a novelist listens to the story of Pi and he quotes that story. In [Big Fish], the stories are belong to Dad(Edward Bloom) but mainly we are delivered the story by the Son(Will Bloom). The fantasies of these two movies are standing on the edge between truth and falsehood. Pi from 〈Life of Pi〉 told the accident inspectors drift with a tiger but the inspectors were not satisfied with the story. Pi should told them another story. The son from 〈Big Fish〉 regarded his father`s story totally fake. However facing his father`s last moment the son completed father`s fake story. These two movies bring heroic myth into the territory of faith. In the territory of faith, the myth is sutured by the order of the symbolic. In this process, modern myth becomes social order and principle. This study exposed myth by showing this process.
