한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 단체의 활동방식 연구 : 전문 ‘비보잉’ 단체를 중심으로 = A Study on the Activities of the ‘Street Dance’ Groups in Korea :

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’의 발전을 위해, 현재 한국을 대표해 세계적인 활동을 하고 있는 ‘스트릿댄스’ 단체의 활동방식을 세부적으로 분석하여 가치 있는 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 이러한 분석은 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 역사를 기반으로 역사적 흐름과 그에 따른 변천사를 생성단계와 정착단계, 발전단계로 나누고 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 계의 활동 관련 이슈를 정리하였다. 이를 토대로 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 단체의 동향분석에 대한 배경과 단체에 대한 요소를 문화예술단체의 조건을 대입해 단체의 요소들인 설립목적, 단체성격, 조직형태, 업무분장, 재정체계, 주요경력, 프로그램을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 국내 ‘스트릿댄스’ 단체들과 해외 우수사례를 집중 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출했다.

첫째, 세계적 명성과 위치에 반면, 문화 예술적 측면에서 아직 발전단계이다.
둘째, 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 역사와 한국 댄스가요 역사가 중복되며, 이는 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 역사의 일부분으로 해석된다.
셋째, 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 활동영역을 확장 중이며, 이에 대한 의견 대립이 있다.
넷째, 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 동향분석에 따르면 개인 또는 단체별 성향에 따라 나뉘는 특성이 있다.
다섯째, 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 아티스트 평균 활동 수명의 증가와 그에 따른 편중적 활동이 늘고, 우수 아티스트들의 해외로 유출되고 있다.
여섯째, 현재 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 교육 환경은 긍정적인 요소와 불안 요소가 공존한다.
일곱째, 세계 정상의 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 단체의 시스템에 비해 운영적 주체성이 아직 부족하다.

이에 따른 결론으로 현재의 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’의 내부적 갈등과 시장의 분산을 확인할 수 있었다. 하지만 이에 대한 세부적인 내막과 업적 등의 종합적 해석으로 현재의 상태를 발전단계로 기준하고 앞으로의 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’의 발전 가능성에 대한 본증을 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’ 역사를 기반의 활동방식 분석을 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구와 같이 한국 ‘스트릿댄스’의 건강한 생태계를 위한 다방면의 지속적인 분석과 연구가 이뤄져야 할 것을 제언한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to analyze the activities of the ‘street dance’ groups who had been active world-wide and thereby, provide for some basic data useful to the development of the Korean street dance. For this purpose, this study divided the stages of the Korean street dance development into beginning, settling and developing ones, and thereby, reviewed the issues regarding the activities of the Korean street dances, and thereupon, examined their background and conditions in terms of purpose of their establishment, their characteristics, their organizations, division of functions, financial conditions, major careers and programs. Thus, this study analyzed our domestic ‘street dance’ groups and their good performances abroad. This study can be concluded as follows;
First, the’ Korean street dance’ is still developing in terms of culture and arts despite their world-wide fame.
Secondly, the history of the ‘Korean street dance’ is overlapped with that of the Korean dance song, which means that the former is interpreted as a part of the latter.
Thirdly, the ‘Korean street dance’ is still expanding its domain of activities, which some experts do not agree to.
Fourthly, the ‘Korean street dance’ groups can well be divided according to individual’s or group’s tendencies.
Fifthly, the average life-span of the Korean ‘street dance’ artists is expanding with some of their activities biased, while many of them are outflowing.
Sixthly, the educational environment for the Korean street dance is both positive and unstable.
Seventhly, despite its world-class system, the ‘Korean street dance’ is still poor in view of its operative originality.
Moreover, it could be confirmed through this study that the Korean ‘street dance’ still suffer from its internal conflicts, while its market has been segmented. Nevertheless, it was possible to interpret the activities and performances of the Korean ‘street dance’ groups, focusing on their potential of growth and based on their history. Lastly, it is hoped that this study will be followed up by future studies that will continue to analyze the conditions of the Korean ‘street dance’, facilitating their sound growth.
