Eosinophilic granuloma is a benign histiocytic disorder with favorable prognosis. This lesion is characterized by mature histiocytic proliferation and eosinophilic infiltration representing unifocal or multifocal involvement. We experienced recently a case of eosinophilic granuloma in a 8-year-old boy with a chief complaint of swelling and pain on the left mandibular body. A seris of roentgenograms revealed a ill defined radiolucent area of the left mandibular body. Therefore preliminary biopsy and curretage were performed. Microscopically the infiltrates were composed of differentiated histiocytes, eosinophils and multinucleated giant cells. Electron microscopically Langerhans granules were observed. in this case long term follow up would be performed because of conversion of unifocal eosinophilic ganuloma to the multifocal disease. Brief review of the literatures was also made.
