석각을 활용한 예비 초등교사 교육에 관한 시론: 국내 교육대학교 소재 석각문(石刻文)의 현황과 활용을 중심으로 = A Preliminary Study on Pre-service elementary teacher education Utilizing Stone Inscription: A Study on the Current Status and Utilization of Stone Inscriptions at National University of Education in South Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

상징체계는 스스로의 모습에 대한 인류의 앎과 연관된다. 상징체계는 앎의 도구이자, 가장 유서 깊고 가장 근본적인 표현 방식이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 상징체계의 교육적 함의를 전제로 하여 석각을 활용한 예비 초등교사 교육에 대해 살펴본다. 특히 돌이 지니고 있는 고유한 상징성과 석각문의 교육적 의의에 주목하면서, 국내 교육대학교에 소재한 석각문의 현황과 활용에 대해 고찰해 볼 것이다. 우선 석각문의 현황과 관련해서는 각 교대에 배치된 대표 석각문과 기타 석각문을 개략적으로 살펴보고, 추모비와 기념비의 교육적 함의, 그리고 각종 헌장을 새겨 넣거나 해당 교대 출신 인물을 다룬 석각 자료에 대해서 검토해 본다. 다음으로 석각 자료의 활용 방안과 관련해서는 지역 정체성 함양과 지역사의 기억을 위한 석각의 상징물 배치, 기억 문화를 위한 석각물의 교육적 활용, 교사 인권을 주제로 한 석각 자료의 배치와 활용 등을 언급한다. 이러한 각 지역 교대에 소재한 석각문을 검토하는 과정에서 우리나라 예비 초등교사 교육의 지향과 목적을 새롭게 조감할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The symbolic system is associated with humanity’s knowledge of its own identity. It serves as a tool for understanding and is one of the oldest and most fundamental forms of expression. This study, based on the educational implications of such symbolic systems, focuses particularly on the unique symbol of stone and the educational significance of stone inscriptions. It examines the current state and utilization of stone inscriptions at national university of education in South Korea. First, regarding the status of stone inscriptions, the study provides an overview of representative stone inscriptions and other related inscriptions placed at each university. It also explores the educational implications of memorials and monuments, as well as stone inscriptions that feature various charters or commemorate notable figures from each institution. Next, in terms of the utilization of stone inscriptions, the study discusses their placement as symbolic structures to foster regional identity and historical memory, their educational use in the context of remembrance culture, and their role in addressing the human rights of teachers. Through an examination of stone inscriptions at university of education across the country, this study aims to offer new insights into the direction and objectives of elementary teacher education in south korea.
