This study was carried out to investigate the effect of water and ethanol extracts on antioxidant and anticancer effect of mint and mulberry. The results were as follows;
1. Total polyphenol content(TPC) was higher in mint than mulberry in both water and ethanol extracts, and the mixture showed middle value.
2. Total flavonoid content(TFC) of water extracts was higher than that of ethanol extracts. Mint higher than mulberry in both water and ethanol extracts, and the mixture showed middle value.
3. DPPH and ABTS of water extracts was higher than that of ethanol extracts. Mint higher than mulberry in both water and ethanol extracts and the mixture showed moderate values.
4. Water extracts of mint and mulberry did not should toxic effect on MDCK cell. Ethanol extract showed more than 95% toxic effect at 100μg/mL.
5. The water extracts of mint and mulberry showed anticancer effects on cervical cancer(HeLa cell) from 10μg/mL, and Mixture water extraction showed the highest anticancer effect. In the ethanol extraction, both mint and mulberry extract showed high anticancer effect at 100μg/mL.
6. The water extracts of mint and mulberry showed anticancer effects on ovarian cancer (SKOV-3 cell) from 50μg/mL, and mulberry water extraction showed the highest anticancer effect. In the ethanol extraction, both mint and mulberry extract showed high anticancer effect at 100μg/mL.
