수요전도대를 통한 교회 활성화 방안 -번동제일교회를 중심으로- = A Study on revitalizing the church through wednesday evangelism team -centered on bundong jeil church-

I have made effort to be dedicating to the revitalization of our church through evangelism during the days I have been writing this dissertation and I am sure that this is the practical dissertation which had the aim of having alternative to conquer the crisis on the stagnation of the growth and change the insight of church members on preaching gospel by visiting and evangelizing in the street through intervention stages. Still there are many church members who are making mistakes without having been able to present alternatives and getting over the crisis with the expectation of the rapid growth our church had had 30 years ago. By entering the course of doctor of ministry program of McCormick's Theological Seminary I could learn new paradigm of the church, and I could find the direction the church should persue. Those were the great profit to me. Regardless of the change of the times and situations and though the flow of trends would be fast the ministry of preaching gospel is the mission the church should perform as an eternal subject to be continued.
Therefore I could reconfirm that evangelism is the only way for the church to be grown more than we shout that the church should be changed as the world changes. I also learned that the education based on strict theory and the evangelical training aiming at the actual site of ministry are also necessary through finding capable evangelical members and opening the school of evangelism. More than anythingelse it is necessary for the church to educate the church members and the evangelism team by presenting gospel and training through practice to make them guide the soul of the people to Jesus Christ. Especially I recognized that the effect of evangelism can be successful through teaching and training of the pastor who is equipped with deep knowledge, learning, and the knowhow on the actuality of evangelism not through the confession of the professional evangelical workers.
I really felt the necessity of program and nurturing the new family to make new family settled down in the church as I saw that the enthusiastic activity of evangelizing new family showed less effect due to their transfer to another place of residence though there are many new families who are registering. Therefore I plan to put emphasis on elevating the rate of settlement through nurturing and teaching professional educator and trainer for new family in order to solve such problems.
Through the operation of Wednesday Evangelism Team I felt that it was fortunate to see many church members including senior pastor and governing board members showed deep concerns on this program with encouragement and cooperation.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

필자는 이 논문을 쓰면서 교회 활성화를 전도를 통해 기여해 보고자 노력했으며 타개책을 실시하면서 본 교회 교인들이 꺼리는 축호전도에 대한 인식을 바꾸고 성장 둔화에 대한 위기를 극복할 수 있는 대안을 모색해 본 실천 논문이라고 할 수 있다. 아직도 여러 교인들에게서 30년 전의 빠른 성장을 말하고 기대하면서 위기를 극복하자고 하나 그 대안을 제시하지 못하는 과오를 범하고 있었다. 그러한 중에 맥코믹신학교 목회학 박사 과정에 입학하여 교회의 새로운 패러다임을 배우면서 교회가 추구해야할 방향을 찾게 된 것은 필자에게 큰 유익이 되었다.
시대가 아무리 바뀌고 상황이 달라지고 그 흐름이 매우 빠르다 해서 예수께서 행하신 복음 사역은 교회가 해야 할 사명이요 계속되는 과제임이 분명하다는 것을 알게 되었다. 세상이 바뀌니 교회도 바뀌어야 한다는 소리보다는 전도는 교회가 성장할 수 있는 가장 유일한 길임을 재확인한 만큼 전도학교와 유능한 전도자들을 발굴하는 것과 철저한 이론에 근거한 교육에 덧붙여 실전에 가까운 전도 훈련이 필요하다. 실습을 많이 하여 자신 있게 복음을 제시하고 사람들의 영혼을 주님께로 인도할 수 있도록 교육의 방향과 전도대원들 스스로가 그렇게 되도록 시간의 할애가 무엇보다도 필요하다. 특히 전도의 훈련과 교육은 전도왕들의 간증을 통해 결코 효과를 얻거나 성과를 거두는 것이 아니라 해당 교회의 담당 목사가 사전에 전도에 관한 철저한 지식과 학문, 그리고 전도의 실제에 대한 노하우를 겸비하고 있어서 직접적으로 가르치고 훈련하는 것으로 성패가 가름됨을 깨달았다.
물론 최선을 다한 전도도 중요하지만 새가족을 정착시키기 위한 프로그램과 양육이 필요함을 절실히 느꼈다. 이는 등록하는 숫자에 반해 이사하는 교인, 타교회로 이동하는 교인, 타종교로의 개종과 이유를 밝히지 않고 떠나는 교인들 등 많은 이유로 인하여 전도를 열심이 해도 별 효과가 없어 보였다. 따라서 앞으로 이러한 의혹과 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 새신자를 위한 전문 양육자를 양성하고 그들의 지도를 통해 교인들의 정착율을 높이는 것에도 주력하고자 한다.
수요전도대가 지난 28주간의 축호전도를 통해 매주 22.5명(연 629명)의 명단을 제출하였으며, 결신한 사람의 수는 장년 37명, 청년 7명, 초등학생 12명으로 합계 55명이다. 이것은 수요전도대가 1월 첫 주일부터 11월 둘째 주일까지 등록한 숫자는 390명(유아부터 장년까지 모두 포함한 숫자)이며 그 가운데 55명으로 14%에 불과하지만 관계전도가 아닌 축호전도를 통한 열매라는 것을 감안할 때 매우 고무적이지 않을 수 없다. 이렇게 되기까지는 각 교구의 전도대장들을 수시로 만나 격려하고 임원들과 더불어 그들의 요구에 귀를 기울이고, 필요를 들어주고, 각 개인들을 위로하면서 기도하는 가운데 역사하신 성령님의 은총이었다.
수요전도대를 운영하면서 담임목사님과 당회원들을 비롯해서 많은 교인들이 전도에 깊은 관심을 갖고 격려하고 협력해 준 것은 참으로 다행스러운 일이다.
