The Republic of Korea is expected to be classified as a multi-cultural and multiracial country with more than 5% of the population with a migrant background in 2040. Since 2000, various policies related to immigration and multiculturalism have been in use. However, there is confusion about the name of the policy, and the problem of overlapping policies is occurring. Therefore, this study examines the definitions and contents of immigration policy and multi-culture policy with the background of the problem of policy name. In addition, actual discussions on immigration policy and multi-culture policy were compared. Through this study, the confusion caused by the difference in each policy name was actually identified. In addition, by analyzing people's emotions for each policy, the social perception of each policy was compared and analyzed. This study is significant in that it suggests policy improvements by comparing and analyzing policies related to immigration and multi-culture.
