The purpose of this study is to analyze the creative activities of performing arts contents using online platform and the creators who create them. It is argued that substantial research on the convergence of the performing arts and the personal creative content industry is needed when the content industry is growing rapidly based on the one-person media culture. The personal creative content industry is the subject of individual creators. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze creative activities from the perspective of individual creators. In this study, we analyze the creative activity of performing arts contents using the online platform of the individual creator and examined the growth direction of the future.
Literature analysis, content analysis, and in-depth interviews were used as research methods. First of all, I examined the personal creation and online platform that grew up based on one-person media through literary studies and summarized the convergence of performing arts and contents. In order to examine the current state of creation of online performing arts contents, contents were selected and analyzed contents by expression technique. As a result of analyzing the contents, I can understand five creative techniques and features, and can be divided into cover, lecture, live broadcast, busking, and creation.
In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with individual creators in order to examine creative activities of individual creators and to suggest growth directions.
In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 individual creators who created performing arts contents using an online platform as a research scope.
First, motivated by the economic profit, the increase of awareness, the expansion of the stage, and the self-realization, motivated individual creators to utilize the online platform. In addition, the online platform has advantages such as instant communication with viewers, difficulty in securing fixed viewers, and exploitation of openness and accessibility.
Second, individual creators are inspired by various experiences such as external experiences and inner thoughts when creating the performing arts contents. The most important thing is how much the viewer's needs are reflected. It also works to maximize visual sensitivity by using editing technology on one image. In order for content to be competitive, scarcity and persistence are important, and skills must also be supported.
Third, currently performing arts contents are expanding from online to offline, unlike the previous one. Many artists have built their awareness through online platforms and are now expanding their offline presence.
The following results were derived as the growth direction of online performing arts contents.
First, it should grasp and reflect the communication with viewers and their needs.
Second, it is necessary to improve the quality of content itself as the importance of content is emphasized. As personal creative contents become more and more diverse, performing arts content is not getting big advantage over other fields. Performing arts content has limitations in giving realistic feelings to actual performances. So, Performing arts content should grow to be engaging content that you really want to experience and want to keep looking for.
Third, a foundation should be established for the creator's stable creative activities. Now that creators are expanding their field as a new profession, they need a system to support and motivate creative activities.
Fourth, specialization is required for the performing arts content to become an independent field in the contents industry. If the specialized business is activated, it will have a positive impact on improving social awareness.
The purpose of this study is to examine the creative activities of the performing arts using the online platform from the viewpoint of the individual creator and to suggest the growth direction.
It is hoped that online performing arts contents will be studied professionally and scholarly, starting from such research. In addition, I hope that this research will be utilized as a material for the personal creation activities of on-line performing arts content, and the ongoing research will be carried out in the future.
