This study attempted to understand the disaster response competency, educational experience and awareness of first aid, and the level of first aid knowledge of Citizen Corps Active In Disaster. This study collected data from June to December 2021 for residents working as Citizen Corps Active In Disaster in G Metropolitan City. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the SPSS/26.0 program, in addition to an independent t-test, analysis of variance ANOVA.
As a result of the study, it was recognized that the disaster management's expertise and response ability of Citizen Corps Active In Disaster were improving and it was confirmed that it was difficult to recognize and demonstrate individual roles in the event of a disaster. In addition, in the knowledge of first aid and CPR, it was found that there was a lack of knowledge about the exact order of CPR, the ratio of chest compression to breathing, and the location of the hand during chest compression. There was a difference in disaster response capabilities depending on the duration of activities in disaster prevention organizations and the degree of interest in disaster, and men had a high knowledge of first aid. Based on these findings, a standardized disaster response system was established to improve the disaster response capabilities of Citizen Corps Active In Disaster and to establish themselves as better disaster prevention organizations, as well as first aid and CPR along with training to improve their capabilities
