It is important to make the decision makers sense the meaning of career in students` life course and in their everyday life. The first goal of the study was to examine the timing of major life events among tourism-related university students. And second goal was to investigate the motive of going to the university and vocational motives. A questionnaire survey of 185 tourism-related university students. A social timetable is also strongly influenced by social and age norms. Several vacational motives showed a significant main effect of gender, and they were rated higher by the women students than by the men students. Exploratory factor analysis and item analysis identified 7 scale factors. I believe that this kind of study will provide useful information for my understanding of individual differences in career development as well as problems of occupational choice in university students.
