      The vocational training of our country commenced in 1953 was the skill cultivation of labor standards law, but the concept of vocational training was legally formulated by revisions to a 1967 vocational training law, and it has come to fruition as the ‘January 16, 1967 (No 1880 Enactment) Vocational Training Law' was announced.
      The beauty industry must recognize the importance of vocational training more than any industries as it is rich in human resources. The beauty education has been gone through many transitions since, and advances into learning as well as technology have resulted in the opening of today many beauty education institutions and beauty departments even to universities. The need for research is raised to take a leap as more developed beauty industry as a revaluation of the quality of education when opening a new chapter in the vocational training is being conducted while growing into a higher value-added business.
      Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to furnish basic data for the development of the beauty industry through an evaluation of beauty education in vocational schools to seek for developmental direction of beauty industry. A survey was carried out on 300 beauty art major students in vocational schools, and 288 copies except for uncollected or dishonest responses were used for final analysis.
      First, the demographic characteristics of those surveyed showed that there are more women than men in sex, there is the most 36~45-year-old in age, and there are many high school graduates in the highest level of education. There were 157 married persons in the married state. Second, the beauty art education course showed that there is no significant difference by demographic characteristics in the information route on school.
      There was a significant difference by age, the highest level of education, marriage and wage level in the motive for the application of education and training courses, but there was no significant difference by working year and sex. There was no significant difference in the education course that helps you, there was a significant difference by sex and age in the subject for a supplementary lecture out of theoretical subjects, there was a significant difference by sex, the highest level of education and working year in the subject for a supplementary lecture out of practical subjects, and there was a significant difference only by wage level in the organized persons by each subject in the education period.
      Consequently, students' satisfaction with the beauty art education course in vocational schools showed that they are satisfied with educational standard, contents and environment. So the programs of systematic theoretical and practical education will have to be more effectively established in vocational schools.
