1. Data on birth months of 13,953 boys, 21, 905 girls in peninsula and 47,020 boys and girls on Cheju Island were gathered by the author and tabulated to show the seasonal distribution.
2. Comparing the above data with the statistics of the City of Seoul and also with the figure of the entire of Japan, January shows the highest percentage of distribution for boys and March for girls in Peninsula. It rather differs from the figure of that of the City of Seoul which show April for boys and July and October for girls.
3. The data from the entire groups of primary school pupils on Cheju Island show that February has the highest percentage of births.
4. The overall figure shows a similar tendency with the birth month statistics of the entire of Japan. It may mean that the urban and rural district are different from the viewpoint of birth dates.
5. Birth ratio at birth were figured out of 9,122 (1961-65) from the records of Ewha Womans University Hospital. The birth ratio shows 100 : 106.50.
