The zeolite ZSM-5 is usually synthesized in the presence of tetrapropylammonium ion as a templating material. The extraordinary catalytic properties of ZSM-5 have resulted in many studies involving their synthesis, structure, and function. In this study, the crystallization process of aluminosilicate gel to ZSM-5 zeolite was investigated by FT-IR and Raman, spectroscopy, supported by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results show mat templated ZSM-5 higher structural stability as compared with template-free system.
