발달장애아동 아버지의 긍정적 의미부여와 사회적 지지가 양육참여에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of the Positive Meaning Making and Social Support on the Parenting of Fathers of Children with Developmental Disabilities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 발달장애 아동 아버지의 양육참여의 경향과 관련 변인들을 규명하기 위하여 아버지의 양육참여와 긍정적 의미부여 및 사회적 지지의 관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 조사대상은 청주지역 H 특수학교 초, 중, 고, 전공과에 재학 중인 지적장애와 자폐성 장애로 진단받은 발달장애 아동을 둔 아버지 165명을 대상으로 설문조사하였다. 연구결과 장애아동 아버지의 연령, 교육수준, 종교에 따라 양육참여 활동에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 장애아동 아버지의 긍정적 의미부여와 사회적 지지는 양육참여에 유의한 영향력을 미치고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 구체적으로 장애아동의 성별, 아버지의 교육, 가족소득, 긍정적 의미부여, 사회적지지 제공자 수와 사회복지관의 지지가 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 장애아동 아버지의 양육참여를 높이기 위하여 개인적으로는 긍정적 의미부여를 할 수 있도록 돕고, 적절한 사회적 지지를 제공받을 수 있도록 하여야함을 시사한다.

To establish the parenting tendencies of the fathers of children with developmental disabilities and the related factors, this study examined the relationships among the fathers’ parenting, positive meaning making, and social support. The subjects of this research were 165 fathers of elementary, middle, and high school students with developmental disabilities at H special school in Cheongju. It was found that the age, the educational levels and the religion of the fathers of the children with disabilities were statistically significant in predicting differences in their parenting activities. It was also found that the sex of the child, the education levels of fathers, family income, positive meaning making and the number of providers of social support, and support from social welfare centers had significant effects on fathers’parenting. The results show that the fathers of disabled children need education and services in order to expand the positive meaning making and their social support networks.
