This study used the methodology of survival analysis to investigate the reasons for women's retention and withdrawal through the Korea Women Manager Panel. For this purpose, the method of outline and analysis of survival analysis was summarized and previous studies on the survival of female workers were explored. Also, the factors that affect the career continuity and withdrawal of female workers among the factors identified through the search process were examined through Cox proportional Hazard analysis.
The steps of the analysis are as follows. First, Cox proportional risk analysis was conducted for all variables. Second, the variable that has a great influence on the model was selected through the backward selection. For this purpose, the extended cox model including the time varying variable was applied.
In order to analyze the effects of female workers on career continuity and turnover, the concept, significance and current status of female managers were described. Through a panel of Korean female managers, the current status of Korean female managers was surveyed and the ratio was confirmed. The number of female managers in Korea has decreased significantly as their positions increase in their companies, and this is not affected by the size of the company or industry. The sharp decline in the proportion of women as women move up to higher positions is closely related to the career retention of women workers, so the meaning of women's careers and related theories were explained.
In the discussions related to women's careers, literature review of career breaks, turnover and turnover intention, and organizational embeddeness model were considered. Factors were classified into 5 categories: personal characteristics, family/economic characteristics, psychological characteristics, relational characteristics, and Policy characteristics. However, since sub-factors of each trait interact and influence each other, it is not easy to clearly classify the effects that affect the career retention of female workers and reveal the causal relationship. Therefore, in this study, Tried to find a significant result by trying various methods, such as a model incorporating all factors, by characteristic, by rank, and a model derived through the backward selection.
In the last chapter, the factors affecting the number of withdrawal event of female workers were analyzed through the recurrent event data analysis.
