This paper aims to analyze Edna St. Vincent Millay’s poetry focusing on the representation of female body in her poems. Millay was underestimated due to her sentimental attitude in the time of Modernism. She is, however, one of the subversive woman writers who tried to express themselves beyond the conventional limitations. She uses female body as the means of self-consciousness as a woman poet and a protest against social prejudice about being feminine.
