대순진리회의 보은(報恩) 이념에 관한 연구 = The Study of Bo-Eun (Requital of Grace) Theory in Daesoonjinrihoe

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 현대 사회의 수많은 문제들에 대한 심각성을 살펴보고 그 해결방안으로서 대순진리회의 보은 이념을 새롭게 조명해보고자 한다. 필자는 현 사회의 문제들이 ‘나’와 다른 존재와의 상호 관계에 대한 인식의 문제에서부터 생겨나는 것이라 보았다. 세상의 모든 존재는 홀로 살아갈 수 없으며 서로의 도움을 받으며 살아간다. ‘나’라는 존재가 있기 위해서는 내 주위의 모든 존재가 필요하며, 타 존재들이 있으므로 내가 인간으로서의 완전한 삶을 영위할 수 있는 것이다. 그러므로 ‘나’와 다른 존재와의 관계를 서로 감사하고 보답하는 보은 관계로 바라보는 것이야 말로 현 사회의 문제들을 해결하는 실마리가 될 수 있다고 본다. 이러한 보은 이념을 이해하기위해 본문에서는 다음과 같은 내용을 서술하였다.
Ⅰ장에서는 본 논문에 대한 문제제기 및 연구방법 등을 밝혔다. Ⅱ장에서는 은(恩)사상의 이론적 기초를 세우고자 대표적인 종교들의 사례를 살펴보았다. 여기에는 전통종교로서 유교(儒敎), 불교(佛敎), 기독교(基督敎)의 은혜 사상이 있으며, 한국 신종교로는 원불교(圓佛敎)의 사은(四恩) 사상 등이 있다. Ⅲ장에서는 대순진리회 은(恩)사상의 배경을 이해하고자 하였다. 역사적 배경으로는 천지공사(天地公事)와 해원상생(解冤相生) 그리고 상생법리(相生法理)로서의 보은(報恩)에 대하여 차례로 서술해 보았다. Ⅳ장에서는 『대순진리회요람』을 근거로 다섯 가지 은혜인 천지(天地), 국가·사회(國家社會), 부모(父母), 스승, 직업(職業)에 대하여 각각 살펴보았다. 필자는 이러한 다섯 가지 은혜를 오은(五恩)이라 명명(命名)하여 그 은혜의 실제 내용을 서술하였다. Ⅴ장에서는 보은(報恩) 이념의 사상적 특징을 서술하였다. 첫째는 유기체적(有機體的) 생명(生命)사상, 둘째는 도덕문명(道德文明)사상, 셋째는 상생평화(相生平和)사상이다. 여기서는 현 사회의 문제와 관련하여 이 세 가지 특징을 도출해봄으로써 대순사상에서의 보은(報恩) 이념에 대한 중요성과 그 필요성을 살펴보았다.
보은(報恩) 이념은 현대 사회의 인류와 자연생명이 겪고 있는 수많은 문제들을 근본적으로 해결하여줄 수 있는 방안이 될 수 있을 것이다. 나아가 보은 이념이 우리들의 가치관과 세계관을 전환시켜줄 수 있는 계기가 될 것이라 생각한다. 향후에 이러한 보은(報恩) 이념의 연구가 지속적으로 이루어질 수 있기를 기대해 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This thesis tries to examine seriousness about numerous problems of modern society and shed new light on Daesoonjinrihoe’s Bo-Eun theory for solution to these problems. The author considered that current society’s problems are derived from a matter of perception about mutual relationship between ‘I’ and other existence. All beings in the world cannot live alone but live with other’s help. In order for ‘I’ to exist, every existence surrounding me is necessary, and thanks to other existence, I can lead a whole life as a human being. Therefore, being grateful for relationship with other existence and regarding it as Bo-Eun that is helping one another can be a clue to solve current society’s problems. The following text is described on this Bo-Eun idea.
Chapter Ⅰ revealed the problem-posing about the thesis with its research method. Chapter Ⅱ examined representative religion’s examples to have grace thought founded on theoretic basis. These include Confucianism, Buddhism, and Christianity’s grace thoughts, along with Korean new religion such as Won-Buddhism’s the Fourfold Grace. Chapter Ⅲ tried to understand the background of Daesoonjinrihoe’s Grace thought. Historical background is described in order, having Bo-Eun by Great Work of the Lord, Resolution of grievance for the mutual beneficence of all life, and the doctrine of mutual beneficence. Chapter Ⅳ looked at five kinds of grace for heaven and earth, nation and society, parents, teachers, and occupation respectively, utilizing ‘Introduction to Daesoonjinrihoe’. The author named these five graces as the Fivefold Grace, depicting real contents of the graces. Chapter Ⅴ narrated ideological characteristics of Bo-Eun theory. Firstly, organic life thought, secondly, moralistic civilization thought, and thirdly, peaceful coexistence thought. Here are three features drawn in relation to current society’s problems that the importance and necessity of Bo-Eun theory concerning Daesoon thoughts are covered. Bo-Eun theory will be a remedy that can fundamentally solve innumerable problems suffered by current society’s humanity and natural life. Furthermore, Bo-Eun theory will serve as a momentum that can transform our view of value and view of the world. Henceforth, this Bo-Eun theory is hoped to be studied continually.
