This study examines the role and responsibility in Public-Private Partnership as the intersection point of international development cooperation and corporate social responsibility. This point of intersection is an alternative to public development assistance such as Official Development Assistance, and a new model of partnership for strategic CSR. The international community can better secure resources, funds, gain greater efficiency, and improve effectiveness to resolve global challenges such as poverty, climate change, education, and health. However, for the efficient and effective partnership to function well, the role and responsibility of each partner should be clear. This paper will have case studies of public-private partnership projects in terms of purpose, implementation, impact and structure. This study differentiates social development and market-creation models of partnership according to their purposes. The conclusion emphasizes the necessity of public cooperation between donors and recipients particularly the active role of recipient government. It also shows necessity of a comprehensive strategic change of corporation, and enhancement capacity of local partners in order for the public-private partnership to be sustainable.
