장준석의 생애와 비평 세계 = Jang Jun-seok`s Life and World of Criticism

국문 초록 (Abstract)

장준석(1903～1962)은 아직까지도 카프의 강경파 정도로 알려졌을 뿐, 생애조차 소상하게 밝혀지지 않은 비평가이다. 본고는 그의 전기적 생애를 복원하여 학계에 보고하고, 비평적 특질을 밝힌 글이다. 그는 전라북도 김제에서 태어나 일본대학을 졸업하였다. 그는 유학하기 전에 고향의 청년단체에서 두루 활약하였다. 그는 일찍부터 공산주의에 관심을 가졌으며, 도쿄를 중심으로 ‘비린내 나는 맑시스트’를 자처하며 활약하였다. 그의 비평 활동은 이 기간에 한정되었다. 그것도 방향전환론을 전후한 시기에 집중되어 있을 정도로 기간은 짧았다. 그의 평문들은 신간회 도쿄지부 간사이자 카프 도쿄지부 집행위원장이라는 직함에 어울리는 원칙론적 발언이었다. 그는 상부의 지침을 충실히 좇았고, 방향전환론에 반대하는 논자들을 향해 날선 반론을 제기하고 상대를 격파하는데 온 힘을 기울였다. 그의 상대는 아나키스트는 물론, 카프 내의 동지들을 망라하였다. 그만큼 그의 논리는 카프 소장파의 견해를 대리하고 있어서 카프 내의 헤게모니 갈등 양상을 살피기에 알맞다. 따라서 장준석의 비평적 특질은 융통성이 없는 교조적 논리로 일관되었다고 평가할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Jang Jun-seok(1903～1962) is a critic that is still known merely as one of the hardliners of KAPF, and even his life has not been clearly revealed yet. This article is to restore his biographic life and report it to the academic circles and also figure out the characteristics of his criticism. He was born in Gimje, Jeonrabuk-do and graduated from university in Japan. Before going abroad to study, he took an active part in youth groups in his hometown. He started to have keen interest in communism from his youth and worked actively in Tokyo calling himself ‘a bloody Marxist’. But his activity as a critic was only limited to that period. Even that was concentrated in the period before or after the theory on the conversion of course, so it was even shorter. His criticisms included comments grounded on the theory of principle fitting his positions as an assistant administrator in the Tokyo branch of Singan-hoe or chairman of the executive committee in the Tokyo branch of KAPF. He pursued guidelines from the superior authority faithfully, set forth sharp counterarguments against those opposing to the theory on the conversion of course, and did his utmost to defeat the opponent. His opponents included not only anarchists but all the comrades in KAPF as well. As his logic represented the opinions of the junior faction in KAPF, it is good to examine hegemonic conflicts in KAPF then with it. Therefore, we may be able to conclude that Jang Junseok`s criticism is characterized by consistency based on doctrinaire logic with no flexibility.
