      Purpose – This study has attempted to find appropriate factors of blockchain adoption in Korea related to maritime and port logistics industry to improve the application and implementation strategy of blockchain technology for maritime logistics. Design/methodology/approach– Lack of secondary data led to conduct survey for data collection and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) were adopted in order to analyze the priorities of rational decision making process. Findings– First, logisticians have difficulties getting a clear idea on the benefits and successful blockchain adoption, while consultants and academics worry more about the technological maturity of blockchain. Second, the adoption of blockchain technology into maritime port logistics has shown that competitive edge of the industry is still highly influenced by economic factors which is mostly related to financial and time related aspects. Research implications or Originality– Until now, there have been very few research conducted by experts on the field in both blockchain technology and maritime port logistics. Thus, this research has attempted to find the factors in adopting blockchain technology in Korean maritime logistics industry.
