This study was undertaken to analyze differences and factors of multidimensional poverty among older women living alone using the National Survey of Older Persons (NSOP) data from 2017 and 2023 and to suggest measures to reduce multidimensional poverty in this population. Analysis showed poverty had decreased in most multidimensional areas of elderly poverty in 2023 compared to 2017. However, the proportion of older women living alone increased, and poverty among these women was generally greater than in the comparison group. Furthermore, poverty in the income, psychological, and labor dimensions was high in all analysis groups and particularly high for the income dimension. Analysis of multidimensional poverty numbers showed older women living alone had poverty numbers ranging from 4 to 7, whereas older men living alone had numbers ranging from 1 to 4. In the analysis of poverty factors for older women living alone in 2017, the asset-housing variable was considered, and in 2023, the income-labor, asset-housing, and social relationship variables were considered.
