범죄에 대한 두려움이 대학 캠퍼스 내의 CCTV 설치에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향 = The Impact of Fear of Crime upon the Attitude toward CCTV on Campus

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 대학구성원들의 범죄두려움과 CCTV 설치 용인성의 상관관계를 분석하여 CCTV 효과성에 대한 실질적인 기대요인을 살펴보았다. 연구방법은 서울 소재 대학교 학생, 교수와 교직원들에 대한 설문조사를 실시하여 CCTV 용인성을 종속변인으로, 범죄에 대한 두려움을 독립변인으로 하고, CCTV 효과성, 범죄피해경험 등을 통제변인으로 하여 다중선형회귀모형을 구성하고 이를 분석하였다. 분석결과는 첫째, 연구가설과 달리 범죄에 대한 두려움은 대학 내 CCTV설치에 대한 태도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 자신의 동료가 범죄로 인한 피해를 입은 경험이 있을수록 CCTV 설치를 더욱 지지한 반면 절도피해의 직접경험은 CCTV 용인성에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 분석대상을 교수/교직원 집단과 대학생 집단으로 이분하였을 때 교수/교직원 집단은 범죄에 대한 두려움이 CCTV 용인성을 증가시키는 반면 대학생 집단에서는 상관관계가 발견되지 않았다. 셋째, CCTV의 효과성과 관련해서는 대학생들의 경우 CCTV의 효과성을 신뢰할수록 CCTV 설치에 대하여 보다 우호적인 태도를 보인 반면 교수/교직원 집단에서는 그러한 관계를 발견할 수 없었다.
