Since the study on building performance was started by Building Research Station in 1930s, the results of the study has been reported from many parts of the world and Building construction codes and standardhas been revised as performance based in advanced nations and as well in Korea various performance certification systems are in operation.
In this study, the constituent elements of performance design system were established by acquiring the problem of the performance certification system being in operation in Korea. With this result, a performance design system was suggested as optimum material and method selection stage using building classification system, acquirement of required function, required performance, suggestion of evaluation index by feedback of verification method and evaluation index
