창덕궁의 공간구성기법을 이용한 공간디자인 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 우리나라에서는 서구적인 개념의 공간보다는 우리의 사회적?문화적 특성에 기초한 정체성 있는 공간에 대해 일반인들의 관심이 늘어나고 있다. 공간에 대한 양적인 가치만을 지향해 왔던 과거와 달리 보다 좋은 공간 환경 속에서 생활을 하기 위하여 삶의 주제가 되는 공간에 관심이 집중되고 있지만 정작 우리의 전통적 특징에 기초한 정체성 있고 차별성을 지닌 공간디자인은 찾아보기가 힘들다. 디자인 행위는 일종의 문화 창조 행위라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 우리나라의 경우 그동안 공간분야에 있어서 전통에 대한 올바른 이해와 연구가 이루어지지 못한 것이 현실이다. 전통과의 단절 속에서 서구의 공간 개념이 현대를 지배하며 우리의 고유한 문화적 특징을 공간 속에 반영하지 못하고 서구의 공간개념만을 무분별하게 도입해왔던 것이 사실이다.
본 논문은 우리의 전통적인 공간의 독창성을 현대적인 공간의 디자인에 활용하는데 목적이 있다. 한국적 전통에 기초하여 문화적 정체성을 가지는 공간을 디자인하기 위하여 창덕궁을 연구대상으로 선정하였다. 창덕궁 중에서 궁궐의 중심 공간에 해당하는 정전, 평전, 침전이 세부적인 조사 공간으로 선정되었다. 본 논문의 연구체계와 구성은 다음과 같다.
제 1장 서론에서는 연구의 배경 및 목적, 연구의 내용 및 방법에 대하여 개괄적으로 기술하였다.
제 2장 창덕궁의 개요에서는 창덕궁의 역사와 공간배치적 특징을 문헌조사를 통하여 살펴보았다.
제 3장에서는 문헌조사를 통하여 구체적인 조사대상을 선정한 후 현장조사를 통하여 창덕궁의 공간적 특징을 추출하였다.
제 4장에서는 앞장에서 추출한 공간적 특징이 어떠한 공간구성기법의 특징에 의해서 표현되고 있는 것인지를 현장조사를 통하여 다각도로 조사한 현장이미지와 문헌조사, 시뮬레이션을 통해 비교?분석함으로써 결과를 도출하였다.
제 5장 결론에서는 제 4장까지의 연구결과를 종합하여 기술하였으며 이러한 연구결과를 새로운 공간디자인을 위한 기본 자료로 활용하도록 제안하였다.
본 논문에서는 창덕궁의 주요 공간에는 4가지의 공간구성기법이 중점적으로 적용되면서 다양한 시지각적 특성들을 내포하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 논문의 결과를 계기로 우리의 전통에 대한 올바른 이해와 연구가 지속적으로 이루어짐으로써 문화적 정체성을 기반으로 한 국제적 경쟁력을 갖춤과 동시에 차별화된 창의적인 공간디자인에 대한 연구가 확산되기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Recently Koreans become more interested in our traditional social space rather than space originated from the Western culture. Unlike the past seeking after the quantitative value of space, now the space which enables people to live in the better quality as the subject of life gets spotlighted. However, it is hard to find the space design revealing self-identity and uniqueness based on Korean traditional characteristics. Behavior of designing can be deemed as the behavior creating the culture. But in fact we haven't established the right understanding and performed the study on our tradition in terms of space yet. Western concept of space prevails throughout the country with our tradition broken off and therefore, we couldn't reflect our own cultural characteristics on the space while adapting the western concept of space with indiscretion.
The purpose of this study is to apply our traditional space to the modern space design. Therefore ChangdeokGung was selected to design the space of self-identity based on Korean traditional feature. The principal spaces of Changdeok "Jungjeon, Pyeongjeon and Chimjeon" were chosen for study. This study is organized and composed as follows.
Chapter 1 is introduction outlining background, objective and contents of the study.
Chapter 2 covers overview of ChangdeokGung such as history and features of space arrangement through document review.
In Chapter 3 document review was performed to select specific object to study and then space features of ChangdeokGung were extracted by field study.
Chapter 4 titled the technology of space arrangement of ChangdeokGung showed by which spatial composition method, space features defined in the previous chapter were expressed through the comparison of field study using pictures of field, document review and simulation.
Chapter 5 was conclusion describing the integrated results of study from Chapter 1 to 4 and suggested to use this results of study as a fundamental data for new space design.
This study showed that 4 spatial composition methods were applied to major places and various visual and perceptive features are implied. Therefore, it is expected that our international competence is developed based on the right understanding and steady research and study on design of space creative and at the same time distinguished expands with the results of this study.
